We are proud to offer ‘learning in Greek’ to our Pre-Prep Learning Community through the Early Childhood Language Program. Our dedicated Greek Language Teachers engage with children during their day-to-day routines, using conversation and play to immerse the children in the Greek language. Our orientation program is flexible and designed to ensure that the transition to our service is smooth. Upon enrolment we will work with you to ensure that orientation sessions enables your child to have ample opportunity to spend time in our rooms and initiate building an effective relationship with their educators.
Oakleigh East features four outdoor play areas with a wooden cubby house, herb and vegetable gardens, fruit trees and pet bunnies, along with Mandarin lessons. The Centre’s herb and vegetable gardens are the perfect places to see our multi-age learning approach in action. Mentone West is the larger Centre, spacious and modern with lots of childcare moorabbin natural light and a welcoming, friendly environment.

A storage cupboard contains a variety of furniture available for use with options suitable for adults, young people and children. ACON acknowledges the traditional owners of the land we operate on, across Australia, and remind people that we are on Aboriginal land.We pay respects to the Elders past and present, in particular those visiting this website. Oakleigh South Child and Family Hub is currently the base for Ward Avenue Kindergarten’s programs while its kindergarten facility undergoes construction throughout 2024. The funding offsets the fees for three and four-year-old children that are part of the centre's long day care Kindergarten program. Families will save up to $2,101 a year for children aged three-years-old and above in eligible long day cares. Engaging experiences will be set up so your toddler feels comfortable and can  start playing with other children.
The School will finalise enrolments at the end of July each calendar year. If places are still available, they will be offered based on residential proximity to the school. If you have a child starting in 2027, Prep Enrolments open on Monday, 20th April and all forms with the supporting documents must be submitted by Friday, 31st July, 2026.

The federal Child Care Subsidy (CCS) reduces out-of-pocket childcare costs for most families based on income, recognised participation and hours of care. Free Kinder is a separate Victorian Government program that provides additional fee relief for eligible children aged 3 and 4, on top of any CCS you already receive. Guardian centres across Victoria participate in Free Kinder, so eligible families often benefit from both programs. XLAM were engaged to provide shop drawings, construction sequencing, as well as manufacturing XLAM CLT walls and a roof structure for the purpose built childcare centre. Key drivers for the client were both an expedited construction phase, andan outcome that incorporated a timber aesthetic in order to capitalise on the known wellbeing benefits of biophilic design.
XLAM enabled the project to adhere to a construction schedule that compressed the structural building program into less than two weeks. Once the enrolment form has been submitted, our friendly Coordinator will contact you to help finalise your child’s enrolment. Learning through play allows children to build their knowledge, develop confidence, and embrace curiosity. Afternoon tea is a time for children to come together in small groups and fosters a sense of belonging. Our team plans more opportunities for play, exploration, creativity and fun with friends, before coming together for afternoon tea, where the team supports their growing independence with opportunities to practice serving themselves. Children come together as a group and slow down to enjoy lunch, made by our in-house cooks, with an opportunity to sleep, rest or relax for children who want or need to.
